Bergen: Viking Village, Nærøyfjorden Cruise and Flåm Railway

About This Experience
A second way to combine the Viking village, the Nærøyfjord cruise and the Flåm Railway in one day, run by a different operator (Fjordrive) in a smaller, air-conditioned minibus rather than a full coach — useful if you'd rather travel in a smaller group.
The day starts early from central Bergen, opposite the Tourist Information office, and follows broadly the same loop as the larger coach tours: the Viking village of Njardarheimr in Gudvangen, a cruise on the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, a stop at Tvindefossen waterfall, and the Flåm Railway.
It runs about twelve hours door to door — longer than the flagship coach tour — and the operator is explicit about its limits: no wheelchair access, and children under four are not permitted on board at all, with no refund if you show up with one. If neither of those apply to your group, it's a reasonable alternative on a day when the main tour is sold out.

What Travelers Say
Rated 4.6/5 by 279 verified GetYourGuide travelers.
The day was fantastic. Our bus driver was the best giving us so much info on our trip to the Viking Village and the boat. Our tour guide at the village was informative, funny and her delivery was exceptional. The boat tour and the two rail lines added much to the day. My travel mate said this tour was the cherry on the best sundae ever!😃

The best guide in the world. Lots of information about life in Norway, funny anecdotes. Beautiful places.

Small group tour. Ger was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. Amazing experience cruise was breathtaking, along with some beautiful waterfalls and lakes. The Flam was brilliant, but the 2 hour journey back to Bergen at the end of the day was a bit of disappointing end to the day

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the other Bergen Viking Village tours?
Same three stops — the Viking village, the Nærøyfjord cruise and the Flåm Railway — but run by a different operator (Fjordrive) in a smaller minibus rather than a coach, and it runs closer to twelve hours rather than ten and a half.
Where does this tour start?
Outside the Tourist Information office at Strandkaien 1 in central Bergen, across from the Scandic Hotel Torget. Look for a black Mercedes Sprinter minibus — arrive at least 15 minutes early, since the operator cannot wait for late arrivals.
Can I bring young children?
No. The operator does not allow children under 4 on this tour under any circumstances, and there is no refund if you arrive with a child under that age. Families with younger children should look at the coach-based alternative instead.
What happens if the weather affects the tour?
The operator can adjust the schedule for weather, landslides or technical issues with the cruise or train, and is not responsible for other costs (like missed flights) that result. You can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour for a full refund.
